Engagement Types

Dale Alcock Projects has the internal capacity and capability to work with clients in delivery SDA projects in a number of scenarios including Construct Only and Design and Construct. We can take the lead in designing and documenting SDA projects, or construct homes from plans prepared by an external architect, depending on the preferred delivery model.

Technical Considerations

As SDA dwellings are typically retained by a developer or housing provider and rented to occupants, we believe it is important to increase asset longevity and reduce ongoing maintenance and operational costs through quality construction, materials, finishes & fixtures that stand the test of time.

DAP partner with likeminded suppliers and subcontractors who take pride in their craftsmanship and construct homes that outperform industry standards. Our products are also subject to comprehensive QA checks and compliance audits to maximise the longevity and efficiency of our homes. Over the long-term, this results in higher performing homes with lower maintenance and operational costs.

There are detailed design requirements for dwellings seeking enrolment under the NDIS, which are split in to four design categories:

• Improved Liveability – better physical access and features for people with sensory, cognitive, and intellectual impairment.
• Robust – strong and durable, reducing the chance of repairs and upkeep. Suitable for people with behavioural disabilities.
• Fully Accessible – high-level physical access for people with disability having a lot of physical challenges.
• High Physical Support – High-level physical access for people with disability having a significant physical impairment and requiring very high support needs.
