Discover the best bathroom design tips

Bathroom designs are constantly evolving to keep up with our ever-changing lifestyles. We’ve asked our Design Manager, John Care to give us his best bathroom design tips for today’s family homes.

“When you’re planning a new bathroom, ask yourself ‘What do I want it to look and feel like?’ as this will dictate the materials, colours and features you include. An over-sized walk-in shower with two shower roses is a popular choice in a resort-style bathroom, for example. A freestanding bath will also help create that relaxing space you want to come home to at the end of a busy day.

“Don’t underestimate the importance of light, especially in small-space bathrooms. To make the room feel as big as possible, my advice is to opt for light colours and let in as much natural light as you can. Dark colours will simply make the space feel smaller. Consistency of colours and materials will help your bathroom feel connected to the look and feel in the rest of your home.

“Storage is also another big consideration. In addition to cupboards and drawers within the vanity unit, think about ways you can add extra storage and interest. Open shelves or freestanding storage units, for example, can be a stylish way to accommodate all those bathroom essentials.”
