"Laid-Back Style"

Sunday Times, Home Magazine, 30th August

Coastal resort meets classic colonial in the Boulevard, a new flagship design from Dale Alcock Homes. On display in South Yunderup, between Mandurah and Pinjarra, the Boulevard is packed with features to capture the holiday-at-home lifestyle. From the dual alfresco areas for outdoor lounging and dining, to the oversized master suite, the home has been designed with relaxation and entertainment in mind. “While the streetscape presents a timeless colonial style, behind the façade is a modern home that showcases some of the latest technology and products” says Dale Alcock, managing director of Dale Alcock Homes. The Bticino Italian electrical switches and the VoiceNav security system are included in the display specification, while the side-by-side 600mm Blanco ovens and a built-in microwave and coffee machine highlight the latest in integrated kitchen design. “The kitchen has been thoughtfully designed to showcase hi-tech design with functionality” Dale says.

There are plenty of CaesaeStone work surfaces, soft-close cupboards and shelves for cookbooks or wine above the fridge/freezer recess. Making up the middle portion of the home, the living areas stretch from one side of the house to the other. The key bonus of this layout is that alfresco living off both the dining room and the family room is possible. There’s the option of creating a cosy courtyard off the dining room or the chance to enjoy outdoor living on a larger scale in the main alfresco are off the living room. Having doors on both sides of the main living space encourages natural light to flood into the centre of the homes and allows for cross-flow ventilation. A light decorating touch emphasises the relaxed, coastal mood in the communal areas whiles there’s an air of elegance and luxury in the master suit. Twice the size of many standard master suites, the main bedroom in the Boulevard encompasses a parents’ lounge or retreat. “We are finding that, as a trend, more clients are asking for opulent-style master suits that provide more than just a standard bedroom arrangement” Dale says. The Boulevard also has a sunken home theatre that provides an extra living and entertaining space away from everyday kitchen and living area. At the back of the house, making up the children’s wing, are three double bedrooms, the laundry and a second bathroom. Designed to fit a 17m-wide block, the Boulevards is ideal for corner suburban sites or semi-rural locations.
