"Grown-ups get special attention"
West Australian, New Homes, 13th June
It is billed as a family home - the Nautilus certainly provides all the space and features a family could want - but it is the grown-ups who truly will appreciate the extra lengths Dale Alcock Homes has taken to ensure they are looked after.
A perfect example of this is the main suite, with its private double-door entrance off the hotel-like lobby.
Managing Director Dale Alcock said the main focus of the Nautilus was to provide a family home and to focus on space and luxury.
"Specifically, we wanted to provide parents with an opulent master suite that could serve as a haven away from the rest of the home," he said.
"To achieve what can only be described as luxurious space, we have included a hobless shower with a central tiled pier, a full height mirror, twin square semi-recessed vanity basins and a huge dressing room, along with generously proportioned bedroom."
The long walk-in dressing room is decorated with elegant carpet and wallpaper and has hanging space, drawers, shelving, a padded seat and mirror.
The other three bedrooms are in their own wing at the front, keeping the bedrooms well separated from the living spaces at the back.
"The Nautilus is the ultimate family home because it's so flexible and functional for a range of families," Mr Alcock said.
"The inclusion of the home office in close proximity to the living areas makes it a perfect study area for teenagers, or for use by working parents"
Alternatively, the office can be turned into a fifth bedroom or relocated to the front of the home, depending upon the needs of the family.
The office, which is big enough for two people, is open-sided but kept private by the strategic placement of white glass.
In the display version, the low wall between office and kitchen incorporates a wine fridge, an option in keeping with the design of the rest of the kitchen.
CaesarStone benchtops, soft-close drawers, stainless-steel appliances and glass-door pantry contribute to the contemporary look and feel.
The dining and living area is a full-width space flexible enough to include a theatre.
The raked ceiling extends tot eh alfresco area through double sliding doors and high, angled windows.
Outside, a raised timber deck, gazebo and outdoor kitchen are great examples of what can be achieved, particularly on a block which has a park view at the back or has water views.
