"Go with the flow..."
The West Australian, New Homes, 6th June
Clever use of mirrors has transformed the walk-through robe in the main suite of Dale Alcock Homes' new Reflection display into a practical dressing-room with links to the sleeping area and ensuite.
The mirrors wrap around three sides of a recess created by the double shower in the ensuite and reflect the integrated hanging racks, built-in drawers and open shelves of the robe.
In the ensuite, the shower has a frameless pivoting screen door and twin hand-held nozzles.
There are twin vanity units with overhanging basins and deep, postformed benchtops against a long wall, separated by a tall window and suspended drawers.
A big window facing the front garden brightens the sleeping area, and there is a high, shallow window above the bulkhead.
The rest of this versatile and attractive family home is on a similar grand scale, particularly the combined dining area and living room, in a 9.3m x 5.7m space topped by a raised ceiling and linked to the office, activity room, kitchen and alfresco area.
Managing Director Dale Alcock said the relationship between the open-plan living, dining, kitchen and alfresco area was a key element of the design that appealed to clients.
"The addition of some cafe blinds or screens to the alfresco area will enclose it into the perfect outdoor room," Mr Alcock said.
"Combine this with the connection to the kitchen for ease during barbecues and food preparation, and this layout is perfect for entertaining.
"The layout is also versatile, with the design carefully considered so that the garage and home office can be flipped with the master suite without changing the integrity of proportions or even the price of the plan."
The kitchen has soft-close drawers and cabinets and overhead cupboards, CaesarStone benchtops, Blanco stainless-steel appliances, including a boxed-canopy range hood, metallic splashback tiles and a big island bench for the underslung sick and breakfast bar.
Glazed panels and sliding doors in the family room and kitchen wrap around two sides of the alfresco area, which has been transformed into an extension of the kitchen. In a wing at the back of the house, three double bedrooms are separated by the activity room, laundry and bathroom.
From the street, the Reflection has timeless styling, with a mix of rendered walls and traditional charcoal clay roof tiles.
