‘Boulevard a luxury example’

The West Australian, New Homes, 1st August

Dale Alcock Home’s new display in Austin Cove shows hoe a home can be turned into a castle.

An elevated alfresco deck framed by a pond and with a fireplace in a random limestone wall ensures the outdoor entertaining areas of Dale Alcock Homes’ new Boulevard display, at Austin Cover, in South Yunderup, can be enjoyed all year round.

Stepping stones cross the wraparound pond at various points, linking the alfresco area to the main suite and a barbecue pavilion.

Glass sliding doors provide a seamless connection to the home’s main living zone.

While the water feature, fireplace and pavilion are not included in the price of the home, these features reveal how effectively a backyard can be transformed into a relaxing area for family and friends.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home also has a room-size parents’ retreat within the main suite, sunken home theatre and an impressive kitchen with dual wall ovens, 900mm gas cooktop and boxed canopy rangehood, soft-closing cabinets and drawers and CaesarStone benchtops. The optional integrated microwave and coffee maker add to the streamlined look.

Managing director, Dale Alcock said the Boulevard was the company’s latest example of luxurious family living, designed to offer a range of entertaining areas, plus personal space for parents and children.

“The entertaining options of the home are numerous – with the sunken home theatre at the front, giving way to the central, open-plan dining and living area, which seamlessly opens on to the alfresco area,” he said.

“The beautifully appointed kitchen forms a centrepiece, with CaesarStone benchtops, breakfast bar, dual wall oven stack and 900mm Blanco stainless-steel hotplate and rangehood.”

In the main suite, at the front of the house, a three-quarter height screen wall separates the parents’ retreat and sleeping area. There is a big walk-in robe with staggered hanging space, fitted shelves and drawers. The ensuite shower has a hand-held nozzle plus oversized “rainfall” shower head, twin basins overhang the deep postformed vanity and a tall window overlooks the pond.

Across the entry, another screen wall defines two doorways into the sunken home theatre, providing a backdrop for a big-screen TV.

The main living and dining area spans the centre of the home, overlooked by the kitchen, with the alfresco area to the right and a sheltered courtyard off the dining area, to the left.

Beyond the kitchen, three double-size minor bedrooms with two-door robes are in a separate wing, with the laundry, bathroom and powder room.

From the street, the Boulevard has contemporary Australian styling, with rendered walls, feature gables, a Colorbond roof and raked verandah supported by pairs of slim posts.

The South Yunderup display follows on from the success of the same design on display in the South- West, at Vasse, near Busselton.

The home has 241sqm of living space, plus the 18sqm alfresco area, and is available with several alternative elevations and versions.
