Blended living has room for extras
West Australian 13th March 2010
The attractive façade of this home, built by Dale Alcock Homes, belies the scale of the spacious living spaces within.
Owners Janice and David Bell wanted a new home with plenty of room for entertaining and to accommodate visits from their large family, and the resulting home has more than enough room to meet these demands.
The design is a blend of three Dale Alcock displays: the front elevation is an adapted version of the Kensington, while the floor plan is a combination of the Suite 3 and the Ultimo.
Entry is through a portico into a tiled hall. A coat cupboard and access to the triple garage are to one side, with the main suite to the other. The main suite includes a carpeted bedroom with coffered ceiling, his-and-hers walk-in robes and a large ensuite with a spa bath, double vanities and separate toilet.
The bedroom opens to a light-filled decked courtyard which Mr Bell said had been enthusiastically adopted by his grandchildren.
Further down the hallway are a home office and a laundry with outside access.
An open-plan kitchen, dining and living space at the rear is undoubtedly the heart of the home. The kitchen has stone benchtops, a breakfast bar seating four people and stainless-steel appliances. A scullery, which is to one side of the kitchen and wraps around the rear, also incorporates the pantry.
Stackable doors open to a timber-decked alfresco area, which has a cedar-lined ceiling, stainless-steel fan, a built-in barbecue and wok burner and pull-down blinds.
At the back of the home, the large 1400sqm block really comes into its own, provide ample room for a swimming pool, backyard and sizeable shed.
The house also includes a guest suite with an ensure and two additional minor bedrooms that share a bathroom and a separate toilet.
