Beach house feel to Resort

The West Australian – April 24, 2010

For many Australians, a desire to live close to the beach is hindered by property prices and the availability of land.

But maybe a resort-style beach house is the answer.

The Resort by Dale Alcock Homes has four bedrooms and two bathrooms and fits on a block with an 18m frontage.

It offers plenty of space, light and relaxed living solutions, light and relaxed living solutions, all aimed at giving the home an everyday feel.

Dale Alcock, managing director of Dale Alcock Homes, said that the Resort had proved to be a very popular home and it had received positive response since its opening.

Families were the main enthusiasts, along with professionals who enjoyed outdoor entertaining, Mr Alcock said.

The resort-style rear of the home has been popular along with the fact that the minor bedrooms are in one zone, with the children’s corner play area.

This area has a wash station for those messy hands and early-morning teeth brushing.

The open home theatre is also a popular element, which people comment on, along with the open kitchen and the 30mm essastone island kitchen bench overlooking the outdoor area.

The façade is rendered, with face brick completing the external aspects.

A modern portico adds interest to the contemporary elevation and is finished with Colorbond roofing or tiling as standard.

The garage has a sectional automatic double door.

Minor bedrooms are at the front of the house and this separate wing has its own self-enclosed entertainment area with feature cut-outs which means anyone can see between this area and the kitchen.

Each bedroom is big enough for a double bed and has double robes with shelving and rails included.

The entertainment room has plenty of space for growing children and a screen dividing it from the bathroom.

The garage has a shoppers’ entry, which leads directly to the home theatre or formal lounge.

The 31-course high ceiling is carried through to the main living and dining areas.

The kitchen comes standard with stone benchtops and has durable stainless-steel handles, a big walk-in pantry and plenty of over head storage space.

Standard fixtures are a Blanco stove, oven and rage hood as well as a dishwasher and microwave recesses, stainless-steel kickboards and a double sink on the island bench breakfast bar.

The main bedroom suite is at the back of the home and allows access to a private resort-style courtyard area if desired.

The big bedroom has a walk-in robe and open-plan ensuite.

The Bathroom has a raised hob bath, a shower and double china basins with plenty of underbench storage.
