"Affordable Exuberance"

The interior design team at Dale Alcock Homes has had lots of fun decking out the Mondo, but underneath the vibrant presentation is a budget-conscious home.

Yes, there may be an HZ Holden Ute barbeque in the back yard and a groovy chocolate-orange colour scheme with rev-head wall paper behind the bar in the games room, but these elements simply highlight the Mondo’s youthful appeal.

Ideal for young families or couples yet to hear the patter of tiny feet, this Wellard display home is affordable and adaptable, according to Dale Alcock, managing director at Dale Alcock Homes.

“With multiple entertaining areas and large minor bedrooms, the home’s design is adaptable as a family grows,” he says.

“Use the games room to entertain a group of mates during the grand final, or as a play-room for when the kids are young. Or, if you are a family that likes to entertain, turn the games into an alfresco for the perfect indoor/outdoor entertaining area.”

Considered zoning of the accommodation and entertainment areas means parents have their own space to enjoy at the front of the home, with a chic master suite, home office and theatre room. The minor bedrooms have all been located at the rear of the home in a wing away from the main entertaining area.

At the heart of the Mondo’s design is a smart and functional kitchen that looks across the dining and games rooms to the gardens.

“The kitchen is well positioned, allowing the home chef to interact with family when cooking up a storm,” Dale says.

The Mondo may have a funky modern presentation but the design team has demonstrated how this can be achieved with bold colour and simple statement touches. “We wanted to demonstrate that by using simple classic furniture, a room could be easily updated to the latest trend by a simple change of furnishings,” Dale says.

“This was especially important given that this home’s key target market is budget conscious, as they are either thinking of starting a family or have young children.”
