About Dale
Dale Alcock is a home-grown success story: from bricklayer to leading WA home builder.
A third generation home builder, Dale commenced his career as a bricklayer in the WA wheat belt town of Kellerberrin. He progressed to become a registered builder and at 26, founded Dale Alcock Homes.
Dale still enjoys an active role as Managing Director of Australia's leading home building group, working with over 150 staff members and successfully building more than 13,000 homes over 21 years. Dale prides himself on quality workmanship and the level of professionalism shown by his staff.
Awarded GreenSmart Professional of the Year, Dale's commitment to 'touch the earth lightly' is evidenced by the raft of cost-effective and environmentally-friendly building initiatives he and his company have introduced. Amongst many others, these include correct solar orientation to minimise east and west-facing windows, energy-efficient roof insulation, chemical-free termite treatment, solar heating, renewable pine roofing timber, and the collection and recycling of building waste.
A Past President of the Housing Industry Association, Western Australia/Asia Division, Dale currently sits on a number of boards in the private sector and is actively involved in charitable and government advisory committees.
At the 2005 HIA national housing awards, Dale was awarded the 'Sir Phillip Lynch Excellence Award' for his contributions to the Housing Industry within Australia. Dale was also awarded the prestigious MBA 2008 Robert Law Award in recognition of outstanding service and contribution of the Australian Housing Industry.
Dale has also been recognised as a leading WA entrepreneur and has won praise for supporting industry training programs and promoting careers in residential building.
