The original home was lacking character and was extremely dated, taking little advantage of the available ocean views. The result has seen a complete transformation which has now become an iconic renovation for Dale Alcock Home Improvement.
The exterior of the home has been transformed and is barely recognizable from the original home. Located on a corner block there was the opportunity for the designers to create architectural gable features from both frontages. The two gables facing west included a new second storey verandah perfectly positioned to take in amazing uninterrupted Indian Ocean views.
On the secondary street frontage a double lockup garage was added to the side of the house along with a semi circular double entry driveway, feature turret and stunning timber lined double pitched porta cochere; perfect for extra undercover parking.
Step across the decked entrance through the glazed double door entry to an impressive foyer. The striking timber/wrought iron staircase, which guides you up to the second floor, serves as a dramatic centerpiece.
The upstairs addition is truly stunning and has been designed to function as a self contained parents retreat with master bedroom, ensuite, study, lounge with kitchenette and balcony overlooking the gorgeous reinvigorated pool area. The result is a relaxing haven perfect for whenever the owners feel the need to get away from the hustle and bustle of family life.
The master suite is perfectly positioned to take in the stunning views. Its generous proportions, WIR and luxury ensuite is reminiscent of a contemporary beach side hotel.
The new ensuite bathroom is the ideal place for relaxation. With a dynamic layout to maximise space it also has a strong sense of style. The vanity has been cleverly recessed, incorporating twin bowl style basins and abundant storage space. The spa bath sits atop a mosaic tiled hob with separate step and is the central feature of the room.

With many of the original walls having been demolished to open the area up the result is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area with direct access to the new alfresco. With recessed ceiling, timber floors and down-lights throughout this living space has a contemporary inviting feel to it; perfect for family downtime or for entertaining friends.
The addition of a separate lounge/home theatre on the ground floor completes the range of entertainment zones that the home offers.
The original kitchen was typical of the era; lacking in functionality with little opportunity for family interaction during meal preparation. During the renovation walls were removed and the kitchen completely revamped. The result is a kitchen which now flows onto the main living area and functions as a multi use space.
Featuring an abundance of storage including overhead cupboards, pot drawers, appliance cupboard and pantry it is perfect for the home cook who needs space. Feature laminates add dimension, colour and interest.
The freestanding oven, stainless steel rangehood and mosaic splashback are a central focal point. The sink has been cleverly hidden away by the breakfast bar upstand.
Step outside onto the decked alfresco area and you have a luxury space for outdoor entertaining. The deck extends to the pools edge creating a seamless look. Limestone pavers to the side add another dimension to the area and incorporate a series of garden beds which soften the area adding a tropical feel.
