The clients brief for this Kallaroo home was to create a modern contemporary home that would stand out from the rest in the street. The result was a stunning transformation, with the addition of a second storey and masses of space.
With only three minor bedrooms, first on the design agenda was creating a master bedroom with all the extras, including home theatre and study. The owners wanted the master suite to be self contained away from the minor bedroom wing and as a result formed the basis of the second storey addition.
The master bedroom features his and her walk in robes, separate WC and a spacious ensuite.. With twin recessed basins, contrasting dark benchtop on white cupboards, an elevated bath with feature tiled step, huge shower complete with glass screen and separate W.C it is truly luxurious.
The new balcony, which can be accessed from both the master bedroom and theatre lobby, is a striking feature to the front elevation with boat shed like gables.
The large theatre room has four square feature windows sitting within the chocolate brown feature wall. The large theatre screen has been cleverly recessed into the western wall, making you feel like you are having a ‘gold class’ cinema experience; all in the comfort of your own home.
The original rear of the home was looking tired, so by including a new alfresco area it has not only revived this area, it has also modernized it changing the look completely.
With the old patio removed, three feature pitched gables form the basis of the alfresco. The two larger pitched gable areas have created a stylish and expansive outdoor entertaining space. The addition of a smaller alfresco space to the left is perfect as the family’s BBQ area. The large limestone pillars help delineate and add aspect to the area. With the entire alfresco space overlooking the existing pool area the revitalization has given the owners a wonderful space for a range of entertainment options.
The choice of material was also has a big factor in the overall appearance of this home with mini orb cladding, render and the existing feature block render being utilized to give a distinctive style.
The new renovations and extension to this home has completely transformed the look, making the original house barely recognisable. It has evolved from a dull tired home on the street into an exciting and modern stand out design which is the envy of all the neighbors.
